CHAPTER FOUR

A week had passed and Brian was getting ready for his brother to arrive. He still hadn't met him, but he had spoken to him on the phone. Brian thought he seemed nice although he didn't say much. What do you say to someone you don't even know? Brian had been getting a spare room ready for him. He hadn't gone grocery shopping yet because he didn't know what Josh liked so he thought he'd wait and they would order out tonight.

They only had a week before Brian had to go back on tour, and he hoped that they could spend that time getting to know each other.

Brian had spoken to Josh about his education and they, along with Josh's social worker that it would be best if he had a tutor because Brian knew that he would be gone for a long time and he didn't want to leave him with someone else.

Brian had just finished getting ready when he heard the door bell. He rushed downstairs and opened the door and came face-to-face with a woman who was holding a briefcase. He looked behind her and saw, for the first time, his little brother.

"Hi, do you want to come in?" Brian said as he moved aside to let them through. Josh looked nervous, when he walked in he looked around his new house. He knew how famous Brian was but he could never imagined how big his house would be, it was a lot bigger from his old house.

"Josh, um...you can leave your stuff there for now, we'll take it up later." Brian said.

Josh didn't say anything, but dropped his bags on the floor and walked into the living room with Brian and his social worker.

"You can sit down. Do you want a drink?" Brian asked.

"No thanks." The social worker said.

"Josh?" Brian asked. Josh shook his head no.

"Okay." Brian said as he sat down.

"Now Brian, you are absolutely sure about this aren't you?" The lady said.

"Yes, I'm sure."

"Have you sorted out a tutor for him yet?" She asked.

"Yeah, she'll be starting next week." He answered.

"Okay then, I'll leave you to it, if you have any problems, just call me." She said as she stood up.

"All right." Brian said as he got up and walked to the door and opened it.

"Josh, be good and don't give him a hard time." She said as she left.

"I won't, I promise." Josh said as he smiled.

After Brian closed the door, he went back into the living room and sat on a chair opposite his brother.

"So what do you want to do?" Brian asked.

"Don't care." Josh said.

"Okay, how about we take your bags upstairs and you can get your room the way you want it." Brian suggested.

"Whatever." Josh said as he got up and walked over to his bags. "What room is it?" he asked picking up his bags.

Brian walked over to him. "Do you want some help?" Brian said laughing as he saw Josh struggling with his bags.

"No. What room is it?" He asked again agitated.

"Third door, on the left, sure you don't need any help?"

"I already told you, no." He said as he walked up the stairs. When he reached his room he dropped his bags on the floor once he was inside and looked around. He had so much room. He sat on the edge of the bed and started to think that maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

At first he didn't want to come because he didn't want to leave his friends but when he realised that if he refused to come he would have been fostered or adopted and be moved anyway, so what was the point in arguing.

He knew that it would take time before he could get used to Brian's lifestyle, it was so different to the one he was brought up with. He hoped that in time that he and Brian could have a good family bond, but he knew it would take some time.

CHAPTER FIVE

Brian woke up early the next morning to the sound of rock music playing loudly downstairs. He quickly got dressed and went downstairs and saw Josh sitting at the kitchen table eating cereal.

"Nice to see you're making yourself at home." Brian said over the music.

Josh looked up from eating. "What?" He said. Brian walked over and switched the radio off.

"I said, it's nice to see you're making yourself at home." Brian said as he sat down.

"I was listening to that." Josh argued.

"Tough." Brian said. "So what do you want to do today?" He asked.

"Not much, I still have to sort out my stuff." Josh said, his mouth full of cereal.

"Okay, well I need to get food. Is there anything you want?" Brian asked.

"Don't care." Josh replied.

"Is there anything you don't like?"

"Not really." Josh said.

"Are you gonna be all right on your own, or do you want to come with me?"

"No, I'll be all right here." Josh said.

"Okay, if you need me just call my cell. I won't be long." Brian said as he picked up his car keys and cell phone and left.

Brian returned from shopping 2 hours later, when he got into the house he heard loud rock music playing, simular to what he heard when he woke up. He placed the bags in the kitchen and put all the food in the right places. He decided to go upstairs to see what Josh wanted for lunch.

He went upstairs and knocked on Josh's door, when he didn't get a reply he walked in. What he saw he wasn't expecting. He saw Josh sitting on the floor, holding a picture, and crying. He walked over to the stereo and switched it off and went to see what was wrong, although he already had an idea.

Josh looked up when he heard his music being switched off, he saw Brian walking towards him.

"Are you okay?" Brian asked sitting down next to Josh.

"Does it look like I'm okay?" Josh said angrily.

"No. What's wrong?" Brian asked.

"Nothing, just leave me alone." Josh said as he wiped his eyes.

Brian looked at the picture and saw Josh with a woman and they were hugging.

"Is that your mom?" Brian asked indicating to the picture.

"Yeah, she was your mom too, y'know." Josh said

"You miss her, don't you?" Brian said.

"Yeah. Look I'm sorry I've been nasty to you, you're being really nice. I just miss her and my friends." Josh admitted.

"I know you do, look, you know I'm here for you if you need to talk." Brian offered.

"Thanks." Josh said. "Do you want this, I've got loads of her, I thought you might like one?" He said as he gave Brian the picture.

"Thanks." Brian said. "Did you manage to sort your stuff out?"

"No, I unpacked some clothes, but then I found that picture and just stopped doing anything." Josh said as he felt more tears in his eyes.

Brian's heart went out to him, it must be difficult to lose your mom at such a young age. "What was mom like?" Brian asked.

"She was great. It's a shame you never got to meet her, she told me about you sometimes." Josh said.

"She did.?" Brian asked shocked. He couldn't believe he had known.

"Yeah, she said she regretted giving you away."

"Do you know why she did?"

"She had a one night stand with this guy, she was only 16 and when he found out he left her. She didn't want you aborted so she put you up for adoption." Josh explained.

"She told you all this?" Brian questioned.

"Yeah, when I was 12, I asked her why she gave you away and she told me. Me and mom were really close, we didn't have anyone else."

"What about your dad?"

"She was going out with this guy and she got pregnant again, he stayed around for a while but left shortly after I was born."

For the rest of the day Josh spent the time telling Brian all about the mom he never knew. Brian was happy that now he and his brother were bonding and he hoped that it stayed that way.

CHAPTER SIX

1 Month later.

The guys were all on tour and Brian had brought Josh with him. During the last month Josh and Brian had really gotten to know each other and they had started to get close but lately all they seem to be at each other's throats. They couldn't agree on anything and argued constantly. Brian thought that this time together would help them rekindle the bond they had begun to make.

Brian stepped into his and Josh's hotel room. It had been a long night and a very tiring concert and all Brian wanted to do was get into bed and fall asleep.

He had allowed Josh to stay at the hotel as long as he didn't leave the room, or if he did he had to be with a bodyguard. Unfortunately for Brian they had gotten in a huge argument before he left so anything could happen.

Brian was not pleased when he saw that the room was empty, he walked over to the bathroom to check if he was there, but he wasn't.

Brian began to happen, to him this wasn't good. This had happened before not to long ago. Him and Josh had gotten into a stupid argument and Josh had ran out of the house and Brian couldn't find him.

He could remember what Josh's social worker had told him, "if this happens again I will be taking Josh out of your care." Brian knew that she was being serious and wanted to make sure that it didn't happen again. Although Brian and Josh didn't get along Brian knew that he wouldn't want some unknown family looking after his little brother, he did love him even after all the grief he caused him. Brian knew that he would have to find him or he would lose him forever.

Brian ran out of the hotel room and began to knock on the door's of his band mates, all of them giving the reply that they hadn't seen him. Brian continued down the corridor until bumped into one of the bodyguards.

"Marcus have you seen Josh around?" Brian asked.

"I saw him downstairs about 20 minutes ago." Marcus replied.

"You let him go off on his own?" Brian asked, his anger visible.

"He said he wanted to go and get something to eat from downstairs. I'm sure he's still down there." Marcus said.

"Okay thanks." Brian said as he rushed of to the elevator. He got downstairs in no time and went to the restaurant.

He came back upstairs with no Josh, but with a worried look on his face.
